Company history and developments
KwikTuf was formed in early 2005 in Hull, with the purpose of supplying glass and associated products to the Hull business and trade community.
Having an initial investment of over £1/2m on buildings, machinery and production equipment, the company appointed a new Director with extensive glass experience to co-ordinate the operation and the company began trading from their current premises in Fountain Road, Hull.
At this time both companies began trading from their current premises in Fountain Road, Hull. By June 2005, a modern C.N.C glass cutting machine was installed along with a double glazed unit production line. By September 2005 a further £3/4 m was invested on a brand new toughening facility, and by now the company had increased to circa 25 people.
The directors have focused on introducing new and modern manufacturing equipment, which gives the capability to produce toughened safety glass from some of the latest products available, to the latest British standards, and in some of the fastest production times possible.
We have also recently introduced the latest generation of energy efficient double glazed products, designed to save heat in the home, as well as supplying the latest technology self cleaning glass to local conservatory manufacturers.
Further investment in modern glass processing equipment allows the company to shape, drill, grind and polish various glass types and thicknesses, producing a range of glass shelving, mirrors, balustrades and fully assembled glass display cabinets.
The directors of the company are delighted with the progress the company has made so far and believe that all staff have played a big part in helping the company build a reputation in the town for being an efficient supplier of quality products, on time!
The aim of the business is to continue to provide a service and support to any local manufacturer with a need for a comprehensive range of glass products. This will be achieved with continued investment in the latest technology and the development of products and staff.
